DAAD Alumni Club in the Czech Republic

© DAAD

The DAAD Alumni Club in the Czech Republic was founded in 2006. It brings together former scholarship holders from the Czech Republic who, as part of their study or research career, have undertaken an extended stay in Germany with the financial support of the DAAD.

The main tasks and objectives of the association are:

  • Strengthening Czech-German relations
  • establishing contacts with other alumni clubs in the world
  • promoting Czech-German research cooperation
  • Supporting outstanding scientists and encouraging contacts between them
  • promoting the German language

The DAAD Alumni Club in the Czech Republic
organises regular meetings for its members, especially in the form of professional seminars. In September 2019, a weekend seminar on “Advantages and disadvantages of the introduction of the Euro in the Czech Republic” was held.

In the autumn of 2018, a national meeting of former DAAD scholarship holders from the Czech Republic took place in Prague at the Karolinum and the National Library of Technology in Prague Dejvice.
